The past few days have seen a similar pattern of fishing, with most boats focusing on the Graham Island shoreline, starting just south of the lodges in the morning and moving east later in the day.
The first push of the ebb tide brought some large fish to the nets. Bruin Bay had one boat keep a 39 pound Chinook and release a 57-pounder in a short period of time. Boulder Point and Chanal Reef also had 30+ pound salmon taken around the same time.
The Graham Island shoreline has definitely been the most productive area this season, and this past week was no exception. The lion's share of the Chinook salmon caught this trip have come from near the Jalun River.
This trip has gone the way most of the trips have this year with the hot spots changing daily. The first afternoon this trip had great fishing off the Jalun River mouth and a bit of a bite at Burger King (both east of Pillar Bay). On Sunday the bite was at Seath Point at Burger King for the first 4 hours of the day.
