2011 Spring Salmon Showdown Winner Spring Salmon Showdown at Langara Fishing Lodge

Summer has finally arrived, which often doesn't mean much here at Langara Island, where any day can bring spring, summer or fall-type weather. But it does mean the end of the Spring Salmon Showdown at Langara Fishing Lodge.

Each year, the lucky guest who catches the largest salmon before the first day of summer wins a return trip for two in 2012.

Our opening month of the season featured great fishing and quite a few trophy-size salmon. The leading weights ticked up from 32, to 36, to 44.5, and finally to 48 pounds.

Congratulations to longtime guest Rodney Schatz, who caught his winning 48 pound Chinook salmon on Saturday, June 18, off of McPherson Point.

September Salmon Showdown
Anyone interested in the opportunity to fish for a free trip can join us later in the season for the September Salmon Showdown.

With both Chinook and Coho salmon in our waters in September, you can win a return trip by catching the largest fish of either species.

All guests joining us on any trip in September at Langara Fishing Lodge are eligible to win.
